Birdfair appoints BluSky Marketing as Official Partner
The internationally recognised Birdfair has appointed Oakham based marketing consultancy, BluSky Marketing, as a preferred supplier of marketing services to the 300 UK and international exhibitors who attend the event each year.
Egleton in Rutland is home to Birdfair which draws in excess of 20,000 visitors from around the world each year and has raised over £2M for international wildlife conservation projects since its inception. In addition, the event, which is co-organised and jointly promoted by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust and the RSPB, contributes more than £500,000 to the local economy each August when it takes place.
Chris Larsen, Managing Director of BluSky Marketing, explained that during a visit to Birdfair last year it became apparent that many international exhibitors found it very difficult to organise exhibition stands and marketing material from faraway places such as China and Rwanda. Chris knew that BluSky Marketing, which is based less than 6 miles from Egleton Nature Reserve, was well placed to make the exhibitors lives easier and add to the professionalism of Birdfair overall.
Birdfair was conceived in 1987 by Martin Davies (of RSPB) and Tim Appleton (of LRWT), who has since been awarded an MBE for his services to wildlife conservation. Chris said: “Tim and Martin have created an international event on our very doorstep in Rutland that contributes millions of pounds to global conservation projects; it is hard not to be inspired. We are looking forward to making a financial contribution to the outstanding work that Birdfair does”.
Tim Appleton said: “Birdfair is at the stage where it needs to offer professional support to exhibitors, specifically those from abroad, and BluSky Marketing is well placed, both professionally and geographically to provide that support. This year Birdfair takes place on 21, 22 and 23rd August at Egleton Nature Reserve
